It’s unsexy but if it has to be done.
At Seductive Pleasure we are passionate about helping our subscribers as well as men, women and couples around the world enjoy their sex lives and when it comes to sex toys knowing how to keep them clean is important.
Have you washed these toys since removing them from their packaging? Have you figured out what type of cleaning and storage they require to ensure that they remain safe play toys for years to come?
Don’t worry - in this blog we are going to share with you how you can take care of your sex toys and help them last longer for you and your partner.
Why Cleaning Your Sex Toys Is Important.
We have been there, which is why we are sharing this with you so you don’t have to. We understand that cleaning your sex toys is the last thing on your mind, however safe sexual health and hygiene should be a priority.
Unfortunately… the vagina, penis, and rectum are home to a lot of bacteria as sexy as these body parts are and they can transfer to your sex toy and stay there. This can lead to infection if not properly cleaned after use.
Are Your Sex Toys Going In Your Butt?
More importantly, any sex toys that are exploring down south need to be carefully cleaned to avoid the spread and exposure of gastrointestinal bacteria such as E. Coli.
If this bacteria finds its way into your urinary tract, you will run the risk of getting a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)… OUCH!
But… how do you clean your toys properly?
It is important to keep in mind that not all sex toys are made out of the same materials, some are porous and others are non-porous. Some sex toys are made out of Metals and glass, while others are Body-Safe materials.
At Seductive Pleasure we want our subscribers to play safe with the best adult pleasure products which is why sex toys in our adult subscription box for couples and singles is either made from “medical grade” or “body-safe” materials for your ultimate safety and enjoyment.
You cannot clean all of your toys the same way!
Here are some helpful tips:
1. Silicone, Glass, Stainless Steel - motorized.
If your toy is motorized and made of silicone, glass, stainless steel, or wood, clean it using any mild antibacterial soap that you would use on your body.
Dampen a cloth, add some soap, and wipe the toy clean. Make sure to carefully clean all grooves and crevices, using a cotton swab when necessary.
2. Silicone, Pyrex, Stainless Steel - not motorized.
For non-motorized toys made of silicone, Pyrex, stainless steel, or stone, deep clean the toy by placing it in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes.
Alternatively, you can run it through the dishwasher without soap.
3. Hard Plastic, Elastomer, Thermoplastic.
Toys made of these porous materials are more likely to retain bacteria, even after you’ve washed them with soap and water.
If you're sharing sex toys of this material with a partner, or concerned about bacterial infection, we strongly recommend you use a condom.
Storing Your Toys.
One of the best places to store your sex toys is in the original box in which the toy arrived.
This will help you keep track of the material each of your toys is made of; especially as a subscriber to Seductive Pleasure Box where all our toys are unique to each other, so you can remember how to keep them all clean.
It can be difficult remembering to clean your sex toys especially after an incredibly mind blowing sexual experience, but to ensure you always keep having those amazing pleasurable experiences keep them clean.
